Ignore Yourself—and So Will Everyone Else: Invest in Yourself to Grow Your Network Marketing Business

I’ve been a top network marketing business leader since the age of 26. But don’t think I rest on my laurels.

I spend thousands every year to improve myself and my business. And I spend whatever time it takes to grow as a person and a businesswoman so I can continue to be just as successful as I am today.

I know that the traditional business world doesn’t necessarily work like this. People get jobs, they change jobs, they lose jobs . . . and for the most part, aside from some additional skills learned to please the current boss, they aren’t challenged to grow much unless they want to or have to make a radical change in their careers.

The network marketing business isn’t like that. With network marketing, you have to challenge yourself every single day! But you’re not doing it “just to keep the job.” You’re doing it because you reap the rewards.

This work on ourselves is necessary in part because the world of online network marketing changes so rapidly. Social networking sites, for example, have become all the rage just within the past few years. Those of us who got on that bandwagon early are still seeing the benefits of our foresight today.

But that’s not all. The website designs and marketing techniques that worked 5 years ago—and in some cases, even 1 year ago—just aren’t as effective today.

Finally, you’re not just doing all this learning so you can experience marvelous growth as a human being—though you will. You’re also doing it because online network marketing requires that you always have fresh value to bring to your downline members and your prospects. If we’re going to be network marketing leaders, we have to lead—and that means being in front of every new trend and change so our downlines don’t have to be.
